Powerful Presence News Upcoming Classes
Presented by Cleveland Business Connects (CBC) magazine, the Connectors Choice Awards is an annual awards presentation that is dedicated to recognizing the best and brightest individuals and groups that represent the local corporate event-planning industry as well as the professional networking community. The awards are presented in a variety of categories and honor individuals and organizations for their bodies of work in a calendar year. Maia Beatty has been named a finalist in the Best Speaker/Meeting Facilitator category. Since only public voting will determine the winners, your votes can help Maia win! Just like on American Idol, the winner is determined solely by the number of votes, so your votes matter. It would be very helpful if you would pass this on to your own family and friends and ask for their votes. Please vote at www.cbcmagazine.com/cca2012/vote and remind your friends and family to vote as well. Voting is open through Feb. 9, 2012. The winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on March 7, 2012. Thank you for your votes and thank you for passing this on to your own networks and asking for their support. Maia Facilitates the 2011-2012 MPI-THCC Board Retreat in Austin, Texas
Joe Bedsole, President of the Texas Hill Country Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, met Maia 21 years ago in Corpus Christi, Texas. In the mid-90s, they both served as members of this board. So when Joe became President-elect of the board last June, he called on Maia to bring her strategies for Powerful Presence to Austin and facilitate his board retreats on June 5-6, 2011 and in January 2012. It was quite a thrill to return to Texas after over 12 years away. It was a privilege to work with Joe (just right of Maia in the photo above) and his phenomenal Board! The June Powerful Presence Luncheon was the Best Ever! Every seat at the table was filled for the June Luncheon. Our topic was Self-Appreciation; we started the discussion with everyone's insights about how challenging it can be for most women. Once we'd identified our barriers, Alumni of the Journey to Powerful Presence offered several strategies for Self-Appreciation that they'd learned in class. We wrapped it up with the opportunity for everyone to experience one simple strategy right at the table. Even though we conclude our lunch at 1:30, there were several after-lunch conversations going on in the room an hour later.
